Taneka Brazier
Graduate, Creston High School
“Work hard, because you will be more likely to be successful.”
Taneka Brazier played a lot of basketball and softball in high school, but it never interfered with her school work. In fact, the competition on the court and the field may have made her more determined to succeed in the classroom.
At Creston High School, Taneka found help and inspiration from her guidance counselor Miss Maya Frazier. Always ready, willing and able to help with college applications, references or requirements, Miss Frazier helped Taneka gain acceptance at Tennessee State University, which is known for its nursing program.
Taneka is prepared to put in the effort required to achieve her goals of graduating from college and becoming an ultrasound technician. “Nothing worthwhile comes easy,” she says. “You have to work for it.”
