Writing Her Future

Charisma Brewster
Graduate, Union High School

Charisma Brewster“My hope is to one day have my own publishing company, and be a columnist.”

Ask Charisma Brewster what she’s up to, and she’s likely to hand you a business card. She’s already promoting her first book, Youth Ministry in Action, just published this spring. With a passion for faith and action, she hopes to see her book have a positive influence on the lives of urban youth and young adults.

Charisma says her friends and mentors from GET, Girls Empowering Together, have helped her on multiple levels: providing support, building relationships, having fun. And she credits her mom with giving her the confidence to go for her dreams and live up to her name. In the fall, Charisma will major in Journalism and Communications at Ferris State University.

She’s happy to share her advice for success with those starting high school next year. “Work hard your freshman year.” she says. “It’s worth it because what you do in the beginning always counts in the end.”
